Chart types

Eleven chart types Spectra ships, with one-line guidance on when to use each.

Number keys 1–5 cycle the most-used types. The rest sit behind the chart type picker (Chart → Type or right-click).

Keyboard 1 → 5 cycles candles, bars, footprint, heatmap, TPO

| Key | Type | Use when | |---|---|---| | 1 | Candlestick | Default discretionary trading. | | 2 | OHLC bars | You want a lighter visual on the same data. | | 3 | Footprint | Order-flow at the candle level. | | 4 | Heatmap | L2 liquidity replayed over time. | | 5 | TPO | Time-price opportunity by session. | | — | Heikin-Ashi | Trend smoothing on lower timeframes. | | — | Line | Long-horizon, close-only context. | | — | Area | Presentation-friendly close-only. | | — | Baseline | Anchor-relative areas (entry, settlement). | | — | Histogram | Volume or non-price series in its own pane. | | — | Renko | Brick-based, time-filtered trend following. |

Workspaces remember the last type per symbol. Open BTC and it returns to your footprint setup; open AAPL and it falls back to candlestick.

See the dedicated pages for Footprint, Heatmap, and Volume profile.
